Hundred Fifth Explosion

[OH and this is probably backdated to sometime in the earlier afternoon.

So Haruki has been in hiding since the end of the AU event. To be fair, he thinks he has good reason. What he doesn't suspect, or perhaps is still in denial about is the the other night... (which is a much longer thread in full and totally work safe and such if you're curious even if it's not quite done yet) and the deadly consequences of these actions. So now, coming out of the woods (he took to checking out some caves... quietly... the other day) he comes across-

His doom. From a distance, you might have heard him SCREAM in pain and horror, but by the time any character arrives, the deed will have been done. Do feel to find him at the edge of the forest in... the follow state:

Haruki is frozen solid. Yes, ice coats his entire body. His face is frozen into a face of terror and there's some minor cuts on his face and arms. His shirt looks like it's been partially ripped in a few places as if by a sword. His journal lays to his side with a hole stabbed through it by... something. But perhaps what is more shocking than him being frozen solid is that... the whole tree around him is also frozen solid. Yes, the whole tree (which also has a few chips and such in the bark) is all frozen along with him, leaving him quite stuck.

So yes, you might have heard the scream! You must just be here by chance! But either way come and marvel at the amazing frozen Haruki. Maybe talk to others who have rushed to see this scene too. And perhaps help him out of concern because, y'know, frostbite isn't a good thing

Or if it suits your fancy perhaps you can run into him after he starts to recover ~~I just need to figure out... where he ends up~~

EDIT Oh but feel free to break time and find him twice if you want. Free him twice too. It's all good]

[Nephry emerges from the opposite end of the woods, looking worried but also a little confused]

Arche? ...I heard a scream. What's going on?

[There is a chattering mess of a boy here.

but do feel free to ignore him if that's easier.

He's kinda broken right now. ...Even if Arche's flaming branch is heating him up a little ~~in before it burns him~~

[Arche lifts her head as what hopefully counts as help arrives.] Oh, Nephry. Uh, do you know anything about dealing with people who've been... frozen? I found Haruki here stuck against that tree by ice.

[She points at the downed tree.]

Ice? [That's...it's the middle of summer! And summer here is intolerably long. ...But yes, people from the arctic learn this stuff by age five.]

The fire is a good start. How long was he...frozen? [She's still very confused but now that it's clear this isn't two people camping or something, she can deal with it later. She kneels there next to Arche and...oh. Right, yes. Summer.]

I don't suppose you carry a coat of some kind with you in August?

[...Ignore the kid he's just- babbling down here something about "execution" and ice and basically sounding somewhere between delirious and horrified]

Yep, ice. I gotta assume there was magic involved, cause... yeah, I can't think of any other way that could possibly work in this heat.

[She shakes her head.] No, I really wasn't expecting to need one... But I can fly back to my house.

You might need to. Haruki? Can you answer me? [or, more likely, can he concentrate enough to answer instead of babble? ...And if he's wearing the coat that's in his icons and he had the time to get wet from melting ice, then they'll need to get it off]

[Nah he's not- it's summer, he had on a T-shirt and some jeans because he was in hiding. But he does... focus on her face - or try to - when he hears her voice. He just... sniffles a little.]

[She just stares at that sight for a moment.]

... I should go get that, shouldn't I?

That would probably be best. ...A blanket might work better.

[will keep trying to get Haruki to say something coherent in the meantime]

[...And now dully, his teeth still chattering he- ... well no that's a little gurgle-type thing but then he forces out-]

...It's cold.

Right. Blanket.

[And off she goes to get that blanket! She'll be back soon, talk amongst yourselves in the meantime.]

[Sitting here in the heat of summer by a fire? Haruki is the only one who thinks so. But that's not very encouraging, she hopes Arche hurries back]

[...He's not sure if he's cold because of fear or because of the temp. But somehow even the fire doesn't feel as war as his brain tells him it should. Man This- but that- What happened. He sighs a little... trying not to panic more than he already is]

[He does look a little panicked. Nephry's worried, but there's no reason to let that through enough to worry Haruki, too.]

Just relax. I'm sure you'll warm up quickly.

...Ri-right. [...And now here comes the teeth chattering. Oh God did that all really just happen? Oh man Oh man Oh Man Oh MAN...]

[There isn't much else she can do. ...That's frustrating. A week ago she would have--]

Don't force yourself to talk.

[He just... nods at that. He's not sure- okay so he got- he was frozen solid?]

[She couldn't answer that one anyway. Right now a second set of memories is trying to force its way in and tell her what to do. She may look a bit distracted.]

[And it's at this moment that Arche returns! Carrying a blanket, and something else wrapped in a towel.]

Hey you two! Sorry it took so long, but I found a hot water bottle and thought it might help.

[She lands and holds both blanket and towel-wrapped hot water bottle out to Nephry, who should know what to do with them, she reasons.]

[...Arche's back? That is Arche, right? Haruki turns to her and... smiles a little, even if it makes him flinch afterwords. It's interesting to see her helping him. Sorta]

[Right then. Haruki gets the blanket to use as a blanket, and the hot water bottle (with towel) to use as a teddy bear. Or a pillow, if he wants.]

Hey no problem. How're you feeling, Haruki?

[She gives him a look that's half concerned, half "What the heck happened to you anyway?".]

...Cold. Hurt. [...And he nods at that, pulling the blanket around himself and... cuddling the hot water bottle. He doesn't think he should lay down. Not now. Not like this. He shakes his head]

...Think I'm better. Sorta.
